Kanzul Iman — English

And know that whatever you take as war booty, a fifth of that belongs to Allah and His Noble Messenger, and to relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the traveller – if you have accepted faith in Allah and what We sent down to Our bondman on the decisive day – the day when two armies had met; and Allah is Able to do all things.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور جان لو کہ جو کچھ غنیمت لو (ف٦۹) تو اس کا پانچواں حصہ خاص اللہ اور رسول و قرابت داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں کا ہے (ف۷۰) اگر تم ایمان لائے ہو اللہ پر اور اس پر جو ہم نے اپنے بندے پر فیصلہ کے دن اتارا جس دن دونوں فوجیں ملیں تھیں (ف۷۱) اور اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

When you were on the near bank and the disbelievers on the far bank, and the caravan below you; and had you made an agreement between one another, you would have failed to reach on the appointed time – but this is in order that Allah may complete a thing that must be done – that he who dies may die by a clear proof and he who lives may live by a clear proof; and indeed Allah is surely, All Hearing, All Knowing.

جب تم نالے کے کنارے تھے (ف۷۲) اور کافر پرلے کنارے اور قافلہ (ف۷۳) تم سے ترائی میں (ف۷٤) اور اگر تم آپس میں کوئی وعدہ کرتے تو ضرور وقت پر برابر نہ پہنچتے (ف۷۵) لیکن یہ اس لیے کہ اللہ پورا کرے جو کام ہونا ہے (ف۷٦) کہ جو ہلاک ہو دلیل سے ہلاک ہو (ف۷۷) اور جو جئے دلیل سے جئے (ف۷۸) اور بیشک اللہ ضرور سنتا جانتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

When O dear Prophet, Allah used to show the disbelievers in your dream as only a few*; and O Muslims, had He shown them to you as many, you would have certainly lost courage and disputed over the affair, but Allah rescued (you); indeed He knows what lies within the hearts. (* They numbered more but their actual strength was equal to only a few.)

جب کہ اے محبوب! اللہ ٹمہیں کافروں کو تمہاری خواب میں تھوڑا دکھاتا تھا (ف۷۹) اور اے مسلمانو! اگر وہ تمہیں بہت کرکے دکھاتا تو ضرور تم بزدلی کرتے اور معاملہ میں جھگڑا ڈالتے (ف۸۰) مگر اللہ نے بچا لیا (ف۸۱) بیشک وہ دلوں کی بات جانتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And when at the time of fighting He made the disbelievers seem few to you, and you as few in their sight, in order for Allah to conclude the matter that must be done; and towards Allah is the return of all matters.

اور جب لڑتے وقت (ف۸۲) تمہیں کافر تھوڑے کرکے دکھائے (ف۸۳) اور تمہیں ان کی نگاہوں میں تھوڑا کیا (ف۷٤) کہ اللہ پورا کرے جو کام ہونا ہے (ف۸۵) اور اللہ کی طرف سب کاموں کی رجوع ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

O People who Believe! When you meet an army, hold firm and remember Allah profusely, in order that you succeed.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اے ایمان والو! جب کسی فوج سے تمہارا مقابلہ ہو تو ثابت قدم رہو اور اللہ کی یاد بہت کرو (ف۸٦) کہ تم مراد کو پہنچو،

Kanzul Iman — English

And obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, and do not dispute with one another for you will lose courage again and your strength will be lost, and patiently endure; indeed Allah is with those who patiently endure.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانو اور آپس میں جھگڑ و نہیں کہ پھر بزدلی کرو گے اور تمہاری بندھی ہوئی ہوا جاتی رہے گی (ف۸۷) اور صبر کرو، بیشک اللہ صبر والوں کے ساتھ ہے (ف۸۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

And do not be like those who came out from their houses proudly, and to be seen by men, and they prevent people from Allah’s way; and all their actions are within Allah’s control.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور ان جیسے نہ ہوتا جو اپنے گھر سے نکلے اتراتے اور لوگوں کے دکھانے کو اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے (ف۸۹) اور ان کے سب کام اللہ کے قابو میں ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

And when Satan made their deeds seem good in their sight and said, “This day no one can overpower you, and you are under my protection”; so when the two armies came face to face, he scrambled back and said, “I am unconcerned with you – I can see what is not visible to you – I fear Allah”; and Allah’s punishment is severe.

اور جبکہ شیطان نے ان کی نگاہ میں ان کے کام بھلے کر دکھائے (ف۹۰) اور بولا آج تم پر کوئی شخص غالب آنے والا نہیں اور تم میری پناہ میں ہو تو جب دونوں لشکر آمنے سامنے ہوئے الٹے پاؤں بھاگا اور بولا میں تم سے الگ ہوں (ف۹۱) میں وہ دیکھتا ہوں جو تمہیں نظر نہیں آتا (ف۹۲) میں اللہ سے ڈرتا ہوں (ف۹۳) اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease were saying, “These Muslims are proud of their religion”; and whoever trusts Allah, then indeed Allah is Almighty, Wise.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

جب کہتے تھے منافق (ف۹٤) اور وہ جن کے دلوں میں آزار ہے (ف۹۵) کہ یہ مسلمان اپنے دین پر مغرور ہیں (ف۹٦) اور جو اللہ پر بھروسہ کرے (ف۹۷) تو بیشک اللہ (ف۹۸) غالب حکمت والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And if you see the angels when they are removing the souls of the disbelievers, hitting them on their faces and their backs; “Taste more of the punishment of the fire!” (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.)

اور کبھی تو دیکھے جب فرشتے کافروں کی جان نکالتے ہیں مار رہے ہیں ان کے منہ پر اور ان کی پیٹھ پر (ف۹۹) اور چکھو آگ کا عذاب ،

Kanzul Iman — English

“This is the recompense of what your own hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen.”

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

یہ (ف۱۰۰) بدلہ ہے اس کا جو تمہارے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا (ف۱۰۱) اور اللہ بندوں پر ظلم نہیں کرتا (ف۱۰۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

Like the ways of Firaun’s people, and those before them; they disbelieved in the signs of Allah – therefore Allah seized them on account of their sins; indeed Allah is Most Powerful, Severe in Punishing.

جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا دستور (ف۱۰۳) وہ اللہ کی آیتوں کے منکر ہوئے تو اللہ نے انہیں ان کے گناہوں پر پکڑا بیشک اللہ قوت والا سخت عذاب والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

This is because Allah does not change the favour He has bestowed upon any people until they first change themselves, and indeed Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.

یہ اس لیے کہ اللہ کسی قوم سے جو نعمت انہیں دی تھی بدلتا نہیں جب تک وہ خود نہ بدل جائیں (ف۱۰٤) اور بیشک اللہ سنتا جانتا ہے

Kanzul Iman — English

Like the ways of Firaun’s people and those before them; they denied the signs of Allah – We therefore destroyed them on account of their sins and We drowned the people of Firaun; and they all were unjust.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا دستور، انہوں نے اپنے رب کی آیتیں جھٹلائیں تو ہم نے ان کو ان کے گناہوں کے سبب ہلاک کیا اور ہم نے فرعون والوں کو ڈبو دیا (ف۱۰۵) اور وہ سب ظالم تھے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Indeed the worst beasts in the sight of Allah are the people who disbelieve and do not accept faith.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

بیشک سب جانوروں ( کافر وں ) میں بدتر اللہ کے نزدیک وہ ہیں جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور ایمان نہیں لاتے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Those with whom you made a treaty, then they break their agreement each time and do not fear.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

وہ جن سے تم نے معاہدہ کیا تھا پھر ہر بار اپنا عہد توڑ دیتے ہیں (ف۱۰٦) اور ڈرتے نہیں (ف۱۰۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

So if you find them in battle, kill them in a manner which makes those behind them scamper back, in the hope that they may learn a lesson.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تو اگر تم انہیں کہیں لڑائی میں پاؤ تو انہیں ایسا قتل کرو جس سے ان کے پس ماندوں کو بھگاؤ (ف۱۰۸) اس امید پر کہ شاید انہیں عبرت ہو (ف۱۰۹)

Kanzul Iman — English

And if you apprehend treachery from a nation, then throw back their treaty towards them in reciprocity; indeed Allah does not like the treacherous.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اگر تم کسی قوم سے دغا کا اندیشہ کرو (ف۱۱۰) تو ان کا عہد ان کی طرف پھینک دو برابری پر (ف۱۱۱) بیشک دغا والے اللہ کو پسند نہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

And never may the disbelievers pride that they have escaped; indeed they can never defeat.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور ہرگز کافر اس گھمنڈ میں نہ رہیں کہ وہ (ف۱۱۲) ہاتھ سے نکل گئے بیشک وہ عاجز نہیں کرتے (ف۱۱۳)

Kanzul Iman — English

And keep ready for them the maximum of forces you can and the maximum number of horses you can keep tethered, in order to instil awe in the hearts of those who are the enemies of Allah and who are your enemies, and in the hearts of some others whom you do not know; Allah knows them; and whatever you spend in Allah's cause will be repaid to you in full and you will never be in a loss.

اور ان کے لیے تیار رکھو جو قوت تمہیں بن پڑے (ف۱۱٤) اور جتنے گھوڑے باندھ سکو کہ ان سے ان کے دلوں میں دھاک بٹھاؤ جو اللہ کے دشمن ہیں (ف۱۱۵) اور ان کے سوا کچھ اوروں کے دلوں میں جنہیں تم نہیں جانتے (ف۱۱٦) اللہ انہیں جانتا ہے اور اللہ کی راہ میں جو کچھ خرچ کرو گے تمہیں پورا دیا جائے گا (ف۱۱۷) اور کسی طرح گھاٹے میں نہ رہو گے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And if they incline towards peace, you too lean towards it, and trust Allah; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اگر وہ صلح کی طرف جھکیں تو تم بھی جھکو (ف۱۱۸) اور اللہ پر بھروسہ رکھو، بیشک وہی ہے سنتا جانتا،

Kanzul Iman — English

And if they wish to deceive you, then indeed Allah is Sufficient for you; it is He Who has given you strength, with His help and with the Muslims.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اگر وہ تمہیں فریب دیا چاہیں (ف۱۱۹) تو بیشک اللہ تمہیں کافی ہے، وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں زور دیا اپنی مدد کا اور مسلمانوں کا،

Kanzul Iman — English

And has created harmony among their hearts; if you had spent all that is in the earth you could not have created harmony among their hearts, but Allah has created harmony among them; indeed He only is Almighty, Wise.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور ان کے دلوں میں میل کردیا (ف۱۲۰) اگر تم زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب خرچ کردیتے ان کے دل نہ ملا سکتے (ف۱۲۱) لیکن اللہ نے ان کے دل ملادیئے، بیشک وہی ہے غالب حکمت والا،

Kanzul Iman — English

O Herald of the Hidden! Allah is Sufficient for you and for all these Muslims who follow you.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے (نبی) اللہ تمہیں کافی ہے اور یہ جتنے مسلمان تمہارے پیرو ہوئے، (ف۱۲۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

O Herald of the Hidden! Urge the believers to fight; if there are twenty persevering men among you, they shall overcome two hundred; and if there are a hundred among you, they shall overcome a thousand disbelievers because the disbelievers are a people who do not have sense.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے! مسلمانوں کو جہاد کی ترغیب دو اگر تم میں کے بیس صبر والے ہوں گے دو سو پر غالب ہوں گے اور اگر تم میں کے سو ہوں تو کافروں کے ہزار پر غالب آئیں گے اس لیے کہ وہ سمجھ نہیں رکھتے، (ف۱۲۳)

Kanzul Iman — English

So now Allah has made an ease upon you and He knows that you are weak; so if there are a hundred persevering men among you, they shall overcome two hundred; and if there are a thousand among you, they shall overcome two thousand by the command of Allah; and Allah is with those who patiently endure.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اب اللہ نے تم پر سے تخفیف فرمائی اور اسے علم کہ تم کمزور ہو تو اگر تم میں سو صبر والے ہوں دو سو پر غالب آئیں گے اور اگر تم میں کے ہزار ہوں تو دو ہزار پر غالب ہوں گے اللہ کے حکم سے اور اللہ صبر والوں کے ساتھ ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

It does not befit any Prophet to capture the disbelievers alive until he has profusely shed their blood in the land; you people desire the wealth of this world; and Allah wills the Hereafter, and Allah is Almighty, Wise.

کسی نبی کو لائئق نہیں کہ کافروں کو زندہ قید کرلے جب تک زمین میں ان کا خون خوب نہ بہائے (ف۱۲٤) تم لوگ دنیا کا مال چاہتے ہو (ف۱۲۵) اور اللہ آخرت چاہتا ہے (ف۱۲٦) اور اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے

Kanzul Iman — English

Had Allah not pre-destined a matter then, O Muslims, a terrible punishment would have come upon you due to the ransom you took from the disbelievers.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اگر اللہ پہلے ایک بات لکھ نہ چکا ہوتا (ف۱۲۷) تو اے مسلمانو! تم نے جو کافروں سے بدلے کا مال لے لیا اس میں تم پر بڑا عذاب آتا،

Kanzul Iman — English

Therefore benefit from the booty you have received, lawful and good; and keep fearing Allah; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تو کھاؤ جو غنیمت تمہیں ملی حلال پاکیزہ (ف۱۲۸) اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

O Herald of the Hidden! Say to the captives whom you possess, “If Allah finds any goodness in your hearts, He will give you better than what has been taken from you, and will forgive you; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے جو قیدی تمہارے ہاتھ میں ہیں ان سے فرماؤ (ف۱۲۹) اگر اللہ نے تمہارے دل میں بھلائی جانی (ف۱۳۰) تو جو تم سے لیا گیا (ف۱۳۱) اس سے بہتر تمہیں عطا فرمائے گا اور تمہیں بخش دے گا اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے (ف۱۳۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

And if they wish to deceive you, they have already been disloyal to Allah, because of which He has given these disbelievers in your control; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اے محبوب اگر وہ (ف۱۳۳) تم سے دغا چاہیں گے (ف۱۳٤) تو اس سے پہلے اللہ ہی کی خیانت کرچکے ہیں جس پر اس نے اتنے تمہارے قابو میں دے دیے (ف۱۳۵) اور اللہ جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Indeed those who accepted faith and left their homes and belongings for Allah, and fought with their wealth and their lives in Allah's cause, and those who gave shelter and provided help, are the heirs of one another; and those who believed but did not leave their homes – you have no right in their estates until they migrate; and if they seek help from you in the matter of religion then it is your duty to provide help, except against the people between whom and you is a treaty; and Allah sees your deeds.

بیشک جو ایمان لائے اور اللہ کے لیے (ف۱۳٦) گھر بار چھوڑے اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مالوں اور جانوں سے لڑے (ف۱۳۷) اور وہ جنہوں نے جگہ دی اور مدد کی (ف۱۳۸) وہ ایک دوسرے کے وارث ہیں (ف۱۳۹) اور وہ جو ایمان لائے (ف۱٤۰) اور ہجرت نہ کی انہیں ان کا ترکہ کچھ نہیں پہنچتا جب تک ہجرت نہ کریں اور اگر وہ دین میں تم سے مدد چاہیں تو تم پر مدد دینا واجب ہے مگر ایسی قوم پر کہ تم میں ان میں معاہدہ ہے، اور اللہ تمہارے کام دیکھ رہا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And the disbelievers are the heirs of one another – if you do not do so, there will be turmoil in the land and a great chaos.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور کافر آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے وارث ہیں (ف۱٤۱) ایسا نہ کرو گے تو زمین میں فتنہ اور بڑا فساد ہوگا (ف۱٤۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

And those who believed and migrated and fought in Allah's cause, and those who gave shelter and provided help – it is they who are the true believers; for them is pardon, and an honourable sustenance.

اور وہ جو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور اللہ کی راہ میں لڑے اور جنہوں نے جگہ دی اور مدد کی وہی سچے ایمان والے ہیں، ان کے لیے بخشش ہے اور عزت کی روزی (ف۱٤۳)

Kanzul Iman — English

And those who afterwards believed and migrated and fought along with you – they too are from among you; and family members (blood relations) are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah; indeed Allah knows everything.

اور جو بعد کو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور تمہارے ساتھ جہاد کیا وہ بھی تمہیں میں سے ہیں (ف٤٤) اور رشتہ والے ایک دوسرے سے زیادہ نزدیک ہیں اللہ کی کتاب میں (ف۱٤۵) بیشک اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Severance of ties is proclaimed by Allah and on behalf of His Noble Messenger, towards the polytheists with whom you had a treaty.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

بیزاری کا حکم سنانا ہے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف سے ان مشرکوں کو جن سے تمہارا معاہدہ تھا اور وہ قائم نہ رہے (ف۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

Travel freely in the land for four months, and bear in mind that you cannot escape from Allah, and that Allah will humiliate the disbelievers.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تو چار مہینے زمین پر چلو پھرو اور جان رکھو کہ تم اللہ کو تھکا نہیں سکتے (ف۳) اور یہ کہ اللہ کافروں کو رسوا کرنے والا ہے (ف٤)

Kanzul Iman — English

And proclaim from Allah and His Noble Messenger to all men on the day of the Great Pilgrimage (Haj) that Allah is disgusted with the polytheists, and so is His Noble Messenger; so if you repent it is better for you; but if you turn away, then know that you cannot escape from Allah; and give the disbelievers the glad tidings of a painful punishment.

اور منادی پکار دیتا اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف سے سب لوگوں میں بڑے حج کے دن (ف۵) کہ اللہ بیزار ہے، مشرکوں سے اور اس کا رسول تو اگر تم توبہ کرو (ف٦) تو تمہارا بھلا ہے اور اگر منہ پھیرو (ف۷) تو جان لو کہ اللہ کو نہ تھکا سکو گے (ف۸) اور کافروں کو خوشخبری سناؤ دردناک عذاب کی،

Kanzul Iman — English

Other than those polytheists with whom you had a treaty, and they have not diminished anything from your treaty nor supported anyone against you – therefore fulfil their treaty up to the appointed term; indeed Allah befriends the pious.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

مگر وہ مشرک جن سے تمہارہ معاہدہ تھا پھر انہوں نے تمہارے عہد میں کچھ کمی نہیں کی (ف۹) اور تمہارے مقابل کسی کو مدد نہ دی تو ان کا عہد ٹھہری ہوئی مدت تک پورا کرو، بیشک اللہ پرہیزگاروں کو دوست رکھتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Then when the sacred months have passed, slay the polytheists wherever you find them, and catch them and make them captive, and wait in ambush for them at every place; then if they repent and keep the prayer established and pay the charity, leave their way free; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

پھر جب حرمت والے مہینے نکل جائیں تو مشرکوں کو مارو (ف۱۰) جہاں پاؤ (ف۱۱) اور انہیں پکڑو اور قید کرو اور ہر جگہ ان کی تاک میں بیٹھو پھر اگر وہ توبہ کریں (ف۱۲) اور نماز قائم رکھیں اور زکوٰة دیں تو ان کی راہ چھوڑ دو (ف۱۳) بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), if a polytheist seeks your protection, give him protection so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and then transport him to his place of safety; this is because they are an unwise people.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور اے محبوب اگر کوئی مشرک تم سے پناہ مانگے (ف۱٤) تو اسے پناہ دو کہ وہ اللہ کا کلام سنے پھر اسے اس کی امن کی جگہ پہنچا دو (ف۱۵) یہ اس لیے کہ وہ نادان لوگ ہیں (ف۱٦)

Kanzul Iman — English

How can there be a treaty with Allah and with His Noble Messenger for the polytheists, except for those with whom you made a treaty near the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they remain firm on the treaty for you, you too remain firm for them; indeed Allah is pleased with the pious.

مشرکوں کے لیے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے پاس کوئی عہد کیونکر ہوگا (ف۱۷) مگر وہ جن سے تمہارا معاہدہ مسجد حرام کے پاس ہوا (ف۱۸) تو جب تک وہ تمہارے لیے عہد پر قائم رہیں تم ان کے لیے قائم رہو، بیشک پرہیزگار اللہ کو خوش آتے ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

Therefore how – when they are such that if they gain control over you, they would not have regard for any relations nor for any treaty? They please you with their mouths whereas their hearts contain rejection; and most of them are disobedient.

بھلا کیونکر (ف۱۹) ان کا حال تو یہ ہے کہ تم پر قابو پائیں تو نہ قرابت کا لحاظ کریں نہ عہد کا، اپنے منہ سے تمہیں راضی کرتے ہیں (ف۲۰) اور ان کے دلوں میں انکار ہے اور ان میں اکثر بےحکم ہیں (ف۲۱)

Kanzul Iman — English

They exchanged the verses of Allah for an abject price, therefore prevented from His way; indeed what they do is extremely evil.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اللہ کی آیتوں کے بدلے تھوڑے دام مول لیے (ف۲۲) تو اس کی راہ سے روکا (ف۲۳) بیشک وہ بہت ہی بڑے کام کرتے ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

In respect of the Muslims, they do not keep regard for any relations nor any pacts; it is they who are the rebels.

کسی مسلمان میں نہ قراب کا لحاظ کریں نہ عہد کا (ف۲٤) اور وہی سرکش ہیں،

Then if they repent and keep the prayer established and pay the charity, they are your brothers in religion; and we explain Our verses in detail for the people of knowledge.

پھر اگر وہ (ف۲۵) توبہ کریں اور نماز قائم رکھیں اور زکوٰة دیں تو وہ تمہارے دینی بھائی ہیں (ف۲٦) اور ہم آیتیں مفصل بیان کرتے ہیں جاننے والوں کے لیے (ف۲۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

And if they break their promises after making a treaty and malign your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief – indeed their promises are nothing – in the hope that they may desist.

اور اگر عہد کرکے اپنی قسمیں توڑیں اور تمہارے دین پر منہ آئیں تو کفر کے سرغنوں سے لڑو (ف۲۸) بیشک ان کی قسمیں کچھ نہیں اس امید پر کہ شاید وہ باز آئیں (ف۲۹)

Kanzul Iman — English

Will you not fight the people who broke their promises, and intended to expel the Noble Messenger whereas they had started it? Do you fear them? So Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you have faith.

کیا اس قوم سے نہ لڑو گے جنہوں نے اپنی قسمیں توڑیں (ف۳۰) اور رسول کے نکالنے کا ارادہ کیا (ف۳۱) حالانکہ انہیں کی طرف سے پہلی ہوتی ہے، کیا ان سے ڈرتے ہو تو اللہ کا زیادہ مستحق ہے کہ اس سے ڈرو اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو،

Kanzul Iman — English

So fight them – Allah will punish them at your hands, and He will disgrace them and assist you over them, and He will soothe the hearts of the believers.

تو ان سے لڑو اللہ انہیں عذاب دیگا تمہارے ہاتھوں اور انہیں رسوا کرے گا (ف۳۲) اور تمہیں ان پر مدد دے گا (ف۳۳) اور ایمان والوں کا جی ٹھنڈا کرے گا،

Kanzul Iman — English

And He will remove the anxiety of their hearts; and Allah may accept the repentance of whomever He wills; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise.

اور ان کے دلوں کی گھٹن دور فرمائے گا (ف۳٤) اور اللہ جس کی چاہے تو یہ قبول فرمائے (ف۳۵) اور اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے،

Are you under the illusion that you would be left just like this, whereas Allah has not yet made known those of you who will fight and not confide their secrets with anyone except Allah and His Noble Messenger and the Muslims? And Allah is Well Aware of your deeds.

کیا اس گمان میں ہو کہ یونہی چھوڑ دیئے جاؤ گے اور ابھی اللہ نے پہچان نہ کرائی ان کی جو تم میں سے جہاد کریں گے (ف۳٦) اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول اور مسلمانوں کے سوا کسی کو اپنا محرم راز نہ بنائیں گے (ف۳۷) اور اللہ تمہارے کاموں سے خبردار ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

It does not befit the polytheists to assemble in Allah’s mosques after themselves bearing witness of their disbelief; in fact all their deeds are wasted; and they will remain in the fire forever.

مشرکوں کو نہیں پہنچتا کہ اللہ کی مسجدیں آباد کریں (ف۳۸) خود اپنے کفر کی گواہی دے کر (ف۳۹) ان کا تو سب کیا دھرا اِکارت ہے اور وہ ہمیشہ آگ میں رہیں گے (ف٤۰)

Kanzul Iman — English

Only those enliven the mosques of Allah who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and pay the obligatory charity and fear none except Allah – so it is likely that they will be among the people of guidance.

اللہ کی مسجدیں وہی آباد کرتے ہیں جو اللہ اور قیامت پر ایمان لاتے اور نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور زکوٰة دیتے ہیں (ف٤۱) اور اللہ کے سوا کسی سے نہیں ڈرتے (ف٤۲) تو قریب ہے کہ یہ لوگ ہدایت والوں میں ہوں،

Kanzul Iman — English

So have they taken the quenching of the pilgrims’ thirst and servicing of the Sacred Mosque as equal (in merit) to him who accepted faith in Allah and the Last Day, and fought in Allah’s way? They are not equal before Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust.

تو کیا تم نے حاجیوں کی سبیل اور مسجد حرام کی خدمت اس کے برابر ٹھہرا لی جو اللہ اور قیامت پر ایمان لایا اور اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کیا، وہ اللہ کے نزدیک برابر نہیں، اور اللہ ظالموں کو راہ نہیں دیتا (ف٤۳)

Kanzul Iman — English

Those who accepted faith, and left their homes and fought with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way have a greater rank before Allah; and it is they who have succeeded.

وہ جو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور اپنے مال و جان سے اللہ کی راہ میں لڑے، اللہ کے یہاں ان کا درجہ بڑا ہے (ف٤٤) اور وہی مراد کو پہنچے (ف٤۵)

Their Lord gives them the glad tidings of His mercy and His pleasure, and the Gardens in which are everlasting favours for them.

ان کا رب انہیں خوشی سناتا ہے اپنی رحمت اور اپنی رضا کی (ف٤٦) اور ان باغوں کی جن میں انہیں دائمی نعمت ہے

They will abide in it for ever and ever; indeed with Allah is the great reward.

O People who Believe! Do not consider your fathers and your brothers as your friends if they prefer disbelief over faith; and whoever among you befriends them – then it is he who is the unjust.

اے ایمان والو! اپنے باپ اور اپنے بھائیوں کو دوست نہ سمجھو اگر وہ ایمان پر کفر پسند کریں، اور تم میں جو کوئی ان سے دوستی کرے گا تو وہی ظالم ہیں (ف٤۷)

Say, “If your fathers, and your sons, and your brothers, and your wives, and your tribe, and your acquired wealth, and the trade in which you fear a loss, and the houses of your liking – if all these are dearer to you than Allah and His Noble Messenger and fighting in His way, then wait until Allah brings about His command; and Allah does not guide the sinful.”

تم فرماؤ اگر تمہارے باپ اور تمہارے بیٹے اور تمہارے بھائی اور تمہاری عورتیں اور تمہارا کنبہ اور تمہاری کمائی کے مال اور وہ سودا جس کے نقصان کا تمہیں ڈر ہے اور تمہارے پسند کا مکان یہ چیزیں اللہ اور اس کے رسول اور اس کی راہ میں لڑے سے زیادہ پیاری ہوں تو راستہ دیکھو یہاں تک کہ اللہ اپنا حکم لائے (ف٤۸) اور اللہ فاسقوں کو راہ نہیں دیتا،

Indeed Allah helped you on many occasions – and on the day of Huneyn – when you prided in your multitude, so it did not benefit you at all, and the earth despite being vast became restricted for you – then you turned back and returned.

بیشک اللہ نے بہت جگہ تمہاری مدد کی (ف٤۹) اور حنین کے دن جب تم اپنی کثرت پر اترا گئے تھے تو وہ تمہارے کچھ کام نہ آئی (ف۵۰) اور زمین اتنی وسیع ہو کر تم پر تنگ ہوگئی (ف۵۱) پھر تم پیٹھ دے کر پھرگئے ،

Then Allah sent down His calm upon His Noble Messenger and upon the Muslims, and sent down armies you did not see, and punished the disbelievers; and such is the reward of the deniers.

پھر اللہ نے اپنی تسکین اتاری اپنے رسول پر (ف۵۲) اور مسلمانوں پر (ف۵۳) اور وہ لشکر اتارے جو تم نے نہ دیکھے (ف۵٤) اور کافروں کو عذاب دیا (ف۵۵) اور منکروں کی یہی سزا ہے،

Then afterwards Allah will give repentance to whomever He wills; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

پھر اس کے بعد اللہ جسے چاہے گا توبہ دے گا (ف۵٦) اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

O People who Believe! The polytheists are utterly filthy*; so after this year do not let them come near the Sacred Mosque; and if you fear poverty**, then Allah will soon make you wealthy with His grace, if He wills; indeed Allah is All Knowing, Wise. (* Filthy in body and soul. **Due to loss of trade.)

اے ایمان والو! مشرک نرے ناپاک ہیں (ف۵۷) تو اس برس کے بعد وہ مسجد حرام کے پاس نہ آنے پائیں (ف۵۸) اور اگر تمہاری محتاجی کا ڈر ہے (ف۵۹) تو عنقریب اللہ تمہیں دولت مند کردے گا اپنے فضل سے اگر چاہے (ف٦۰) بیشک اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Fight against the People given the Book(s) who do not accept faith in Allah and the Last Day, and who do not treat as forbidden what is forbidden by Allah and by His Noble Messenger, and who do not follow the true religion, until they pay the tariff with their own hands with humiliation.

لڑو ان سے جو ایمان نہیں لاتے اللہ پر اور قیامت پر (ف٦۱) اور حرام نہیں مانتے اس چیز کو جس کو حرام کیا اللہ اور اس کے رسول نے (ف٦۲) اور سچے دین (ف٦۳) کے تابع نہیں ہوتے یعنی وہ جو کتاب دیے گئے جب تک اپنے ہاتھ سے جزیہ نہ دیں ذلیل ہو کر (ف٦٤)

Kanzul Iman — English

And the Jews said, “Uzair is the son of Allah”, and the Christians said “The Messiah is the son of Allah”; they utter this from their own mouths; they speak like the former disbelievers; may Allah kill them; where are they reverting!

اور یہودی بولے عزیر اللہ کا بیٹا ہے (ف٦۵) اور نصرانی بولے مسیح اللہ کا بیٹا ہے ، یہ باتیں وہ اپنے منہ سے بکتے ہیں (ف٦٦) اگلے کافروں کی سی بات بناتے ہیں، اللہ انہیں مارے، کہاں اوندھے جاتے ہیں (ف٦۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

They have taken their rabbis and their monks as Gods besides Allah and (also) Messiah the son of Maryam; and they were not commanded except to worship only One God – Allah; none is worthy of worship except Him; Purity is to Him from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him).

انہوں نے اپنے پادریوں اور جوگیوں کو اللہ کے سوا خدا بنالیا (ف٦۸) اور مسیح بن مریم کو (ف٦۹) اور انہیں حکم نہ تھا (ف۷۰) مگر یہ کہ ایک اللہ کو پوجیں اس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں، اسے پاکی ہے ان کے شرک سے،

Kanzul Iman — English

They wish to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will not agree except that He will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers get annoyed.

چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کا نور (ف۷۱) اپنے منہ سے بجھا دیں اور اللہ نہ مانے گا مگر اپنے نور کا پورا کرنا (ف۷۲) پڑے برا مانیں کافر،

It is He Who has sent His Noble Messenger with guidance and the true religion, in order to prevail over all other religions – even if the polytheists get annoyed.

وہی ہے جس نے اپنا رسول (ف۷۳) ہدایت اور سچے دین کے ساتھ بھیجا کہ اسے سب دینوں پر غالب کرے (ف۷٤) پڑے برا مانیں مشرک ،

O People who Believe! Indeed many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks unjustly devour people's wealth and prevent from Allah’s way; and those who hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah’s way – so them give the glad tidings of a painful punishment.

اے ایمان والو! بیشک بہت پادری اور جوگی لوگوں کا مال ناحق کھا جاتے ہیں (ف۷۵) اور اللہ کی راہ سے (ف۷٦) روکتے ہیں، اور وہ کہ جوڑ کر رکھتے ہیں سونا اور چاندی اور اسے اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے (ف۷۷) انہیں خوشخبری سناؤ دردناک عذاب کی،

The day when it will be heated in the fire of hell, and their foreheads and their sides and their backs will be branded with them; “Here is what you hoarded for yourselves; so now taste the joy of your hoarding!”

جس دن تپایا جائے گا جہنم کی آگ میں (ف۷۸) پھر اس سے داغیں گے ان کی پیشانیاں اور کروٹیں اور پیٹھیں (ف۷۹) یہ ہے وہ جو تم نے اپنے لیے جوڑ کر رکھا تھا اب چکھو مزا اس جوڑنے کا،

Kanzul Iman — English

Indeed the number of months before Allah is twelve – in the Book of Allah – since the day He created the heavens and the earth, of which four are sacred; this the straight religion; so do not wrong yourselves in those months; and constantly fight against the polytheists as they constantly fight against you; and know well that Allah is with the pious.

بیشک مہینوں کی گنتی اللہ کے نزدیک بارہ مہینے ہے (ف۸۰) اللہ کی کتاب میں (ف۸۱) جب سے اس نے آسمان اور زمین بنائے ان میں سے چار حرمت والے ہیں (ف۸۲) یہ سیدھا دین ہے، تو ان مہینوں میں (ف۸۳) اپنی جان پر ظلم نہ کرو اور مشرکوں سے ہر وقت لڑو جیسا وہ تم سے ہر وقت لڑتے ہیں، اور جان لو کہ اللہ پرہیزگاروں کے ساتھ ہے (ف۸٤)

Kanzul Iman — English

Their postponing of the months is nothing but furtherance in disbelief – the disbelievers are misled by it – they decree it lawful in one year and regard it forbidden in another year, in order to equate to the number of the months which Allah has made sacred, and to make lawful what Allah has forbidden; their evil deeds seem good in their sight; and Allah does not guide the disbelievers.

ان کا مہینے پیچھے ہٹانا نہیں مگر اور کفر میں بڑھنا (ف۸۵) اس سے کافر بہکائے جاتے ہیں ایک برس اسے حلال (ف۸٦) ٹھہراتے ہیں اور دوسرے برس اسے حرام مانتے ہیں کہ اس گنتی کے برابر ہوجائیں جو اللہ نے حرام فرمائی (ف۸۷) اور اللہ کے حرام کیے ہوئے حلال کرلیں ، ان کے برے کام ان کی آنکھوں میں بھلے لگتے ہیں، اور اللہ کافروں کو راہ نہیں دیتا،

O People who Believe! What is the matter with you, that when it is said to you, “Migrate in Allah's cause”, you sit on the ground with heaviness? Have you preferred this worldly life over the Hereafter? And the wealth of the life of this world, in comparison with the Hereafter, is but only a little.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اے ایمان والو! تمہیں کیا ہوا جب تم سے کہا جائے کہ خدا کی راہ میں کوچ کرو تو بوجھ کے مارے زمین پر بیٹھ جاتے ہو (ف۸۸) کیا تم نے دنیا کی زندگی آخرت کے بدلے پسند کر لی اور جیتی دنیا کا اسباب آخرت کے سامنے نہیں مگر تھوڑا (ف۸۹)

Kanzul Iman — English

If you do not migrate, He will afflict you with a painful punishment and bring other people in your stead and you will not be able to harm Him in the least; and Allah is Able to do all things.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اگر نہ کوچ کرو گے (ف۹۰) انہیں سخت سزا دے گا اور تمہاری جگہ اور تمہاری جگہ اور لوگ لے آئے گا (ف۹۱) اور تم اس کا کچھ نہ بگاڑ سکوگے، اور اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

If you do not help him (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), Allah has helped him – when he had to go forth due to the mischief of the disbelievers, just as two men* – when they were in the cave, when he was saying to his companion “Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us”; then Allah caused His calm to descend upon him and helped him with armies you did not see, and disgraced the word of the disbelievers; and Allah’s Word is supreme; and Allah is the Almighty, the Wise. (* The Holy Prophet migrated only with S. Abu Bakr (who later became the first caliph) as his sole companion.)

اگر تم محبوب کی مدد نہ کرو تو بیشک اللہ نے ان کی مدد فرمائی جب کافروں کی شرارت سے انہیں باہر تشریف لے جانا ہوا (ف۹۲) صرف دو جان سے جب وہ دونوں (ف۹۳) غار میں تھے جب اپنے یار سے (ف۹٤) فرماتے تھے غم نہ کھا بیشک اللہ ہمارے ساتھ ہے تو اللہ نے اس پر اپنا سکینہ اتارا (ف۹۵) اور ان فوجوں سے اس کی مدد کی جو تم نے نہ دیکھیں (ف۹٦) اور کافروں کی بات نیچے ڈالی (ف۹۷) اللہ ہی کا بول بالا ہے اور اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Migrate – whether willingly or with a heavy heart and fight in Allah's cause with your wealth and your lives; this is better for you, if you realise.

کوچ کرو ہلکی جان سے چاہے بھاری دل سے (ف۹۸) اور اللہ کی راہ میں لڑو اپنے مال اور جان سے، یہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے اگر جانو (ف۹۹)

Kanzul Iman — English

Had there been some wealth near at hand or a short journey, they would have certainly accompanied you, but the difficult path became very distant for them; and they will now swear by Allah that “Had we been able, we would have surely accompanied you”; they destroy their own souls; and Allah knows that undoubtedly, they are indeed liars.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اگر کوئی قریب مال یا متوسط سفر ہوتا (ف۱۰۰) تو ضرور تمہارے ساتھ جاتے (ف۱۰۱) مگر ان پر تو مشقت کا راستہ دور پڑ گیا، اور اب اللہ کی قسم کھائیں گے (ف۱۰۲) کہ ہم سے بن پڑتا تو ضرور تمہارے ساتھ چلتے (ف۱۰۳) اپنی جانو کو ہلاک کرتے ہیں (ف۱۰٤) اور اللہ جانتا ہے کہ وہ بیشک ضرور جھوٹے ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

May Allah forgive you*; why did you permit them** until the truthful ones had been manifested to you and the liars been exposed? (* This is an expression of love for the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him. ** The hypocrites had been permitted to stay back from the holy war.)

اللہ تمہیں معاف کرے (ف۱۰۵) تم نے انہیں کیوں اِذن دے دیا جب تک نہ کھلے تھے تم پر سچے اور ظاہر نہ ہوئے تھے جھوٹے،

And those who believe in Allah and the Last Day will not seek exemption from you for not fighting with their wealth and their lives; and Allah well knows the pious.

اور وہ جو اللہ اور قیامت پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں تم سے چھٹی نہ مانگیں گے اس سے کہ اپنے مال اور جان سے جہاد کریں، اور اللہ خوب جا نتا ہے پرہیزگاروں کو،

Kanzul Iman — English

Only those ask for such an exemption from you who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, and whose hearts are in doubt – so they waver in their doubts.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تم سے یہ چھٹی وہی مانگتے ہیں جو اللہ اور قیامت پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے (ف۱۰٦) اور ان کے دل شک میں پڑے ہیں تو وہ اپنے شک میں ڈانواں ڈول ہیں (ف۱۰۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

And if going forth were acceptable to them, they would have made preparations for it, but Allah Himself disliked their getting up (to fight) so He filled them with laze and it was said “Continue sitting with those who remain seated.”

انہیں نکلنا منظور ہوتا (ف۱۰۸) تو اس کا سامان کرتے مگر خدا ہی کو ان کا اٹھنا پسند ہوا تو ان میں کاہلی بھردی اور (ف۱۰۹) فرمایا گیا کہ بیٹھ رہو بیٹھ رہنے والے کے ساتھ (ف۱۱۰)

Kanzul Iman — English

If they had gone forth among you, you would then not gain any increase from them except trouble, and seeking to cause turmoil they would run rumours among you; and their spies are among you; and Allah well knows the unjust.

اگر وہ تم میں نکلتے تو ان سے سوا نقصان کے تمہیں کچھ نہ بڑھتنا اور تم میں فتنہ ڈالنے کو تمہارے بیچ میں غرابیں دوڑاتے (فساد ڈالتے) (ف۱۱۱) اور تم میں ان کے جاسوس موجود ہیں (ف۱۱۲) اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے ظالموں کو،

Kanzul Iman — English

Indeed they had sought to cause turmoil at the outset, and O dear Prophet the scheme turned otherwise* for you, so much so that the truth came and the command of Allah appeared, and they disliked it. (* In your favour.)

بیشک انہوں نے پہلے ہی فتنہ چاہا تھا (ف۱۱۳) اور اے محبوب! تمہارے لیے تدبیریں الٹی پلٹیں (ف۱۱٤) یہاں تک کہ حق آیا (ف۱۱۵) اور اللہ کا حکم ظاہر ہوا (ف۱۱٦) اور انہیں ناگوار تھا،

Kanzul Iman — English

And among them is one who requests you that, “Grant me exemption (from fighting) and do not put me to test”; pay heed! They have indeed fallen into trial; and indeed hell surrounds the disbelievers.

اور ان میں کوئی تم سے یوں عرض کرتا ہے کہ مجھے رخصت دیجیے اور فتنہ میں نہ ڈالیے (ف۱۱۷) سن لو وہ فتنہ ہی میں پڑے (ف۱۱۸) اور بیشک جہنم گھیرے ہوئے ہے کافروں کو،

If good befalls you they dislike it; and were some calamity to befall you, they would say, “We had resolved our matters in advance”, and would turn away rejoicing.

اگر تمہیں بھلائی پہنچے (ف۱۱۹) تو انہیں برا لگے اور اگر تمہیں کوئی مصیبت پہنچے (ف۱۲۰) تو کہیں (ف۱۲۱) ہم نے اپنا کام پہلے ہی ٹھیک کرلیا تھا اور خوشیاں مناتے پھر جائیں،

Say, O dear Prophet “Nothing shall befall us except what Allah has destined for us; He is our Master; and the Muslims must rely only on Allah.”

تم فرماؤ ہمیں نہ پہنچے گا مگر جو اللہ نے ہمارے لیے لکھ دیا وہ ہمارا مولیٰ ہے اور مسلمانوں کو اللہ ہی پر بھروسہ چاہیے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Say, “What do you wait for to happen to us, except one of the two good things?* And for you, we look forward to Allah afflicting you with a punishment from Himself or by our hands; so wait – we too await with you.” (*Death in Allah’s way or victory.)

تم فرماؤ تم ہم پر کس چیز کا انتظار کرتے ہو مگر دو خوبیوں میں سے ایک کا (ف۱۲۲) اور ہم تم پر اس انتظار میں ہیں کہ اللہ تم پر عذاب ڈالے اپنے پاس سے (ف۱۲۳) یا ہمارے ہاتھوں (ف۱۲٤) تو اب راہ دیکھو ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ راہ دیکھ رہے ہیں (ف۱۲۵)

Kanzul Iman — English

Say, “Spend willingly or with a heavy heart, it will never be accepted from you; indeed you are a disobedient people.”

تم فرماؤ کہ دل سے خرچ کرو یا ناگواری سے تم سے ہرگز قبول نہ ہوگا (ف۱۲٦) بیشک تم بےحکم لوگ ہو،

And their spending was not stopped being accepted, except because they disbelieved in Allah and His Noble Messenger, and they come to prayer with heavy hearts, and they do not spend except unwillingly.

اور وہ جو خرچ کرتے ہیں اس کا قبول ہونا بند نہ ہوا مگر اسی لیے کہ وہ اللہ اور رسول سے منکر ہوئے اور نماز کو نہیں آتے مگر جی ہارے اور خرچ نہیں کرتے مگر ناگواری سے (ف۱۲۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

So let not their riches or their children surprise you; Allah only intends to punish them in the life of this world with these things and that they die only as disbelievers.

تو تمہیں ان کے مال اور ان کی اولاد کا تعجب نہ آئے، اللہ ہی چاہتا ہے کہ دنیا کی زندگی میں ان چیزوں سے ان پر وبال ڈالے اور اگر کفر ہی پر ان کا دم نکل جائے (ف۱۲۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

And they (the hypocrites) swear by Allah that they are from among you (Muslims); and they are not from among you – however those people are afraid.

اور اللہ کی قسمیں کھاتے ہیں (ف۱۲۹) کہ وہ تم میں سے ہیں (ف۱۳۰) اور تم میں سے ہیں نہیں (ف۱۳۱) ہاں وہ لوگ ڈرتے ہیں (ف۱۳۲)

Kanzul Iman — English

If they find some refuge, or caves, or a place to hide, they will break the bonds and return there.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اگر پائیں کوئی پناہ یا غار یا سما جانے کی جگہ تو رسیاں تڑاتے ادھر پھر جائیں گے (ف۱۳۳)

Kanzul Iman — English

And among them is one who slanders you regarding the distribution of charity; so if they receive some of it they would be happy – and if not, thereupon they get displeased!

اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے کہ صدقے بانٹنے میں تم پر طعن کرتا ہے (ف۱۳٤) تو اگر ان (ف۱۳۵) میں سے کچھ ملے تو راضی ہوجائیں اور نہ ملے تو جبھی وہ ناراض ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

How excellent it would be, if they were pleased with what Allah and His Noble Messenger had given them and said, “Allah suffices us; Allah will now give us by His munificence, and (so will) Allah’s Noble Messenger – and towards Allah only are we inclined.”

اور کیا اچھا ہوتا اگر وہ اس پر راضی ہوتے جو اللہ و رسول نے ان کو دیا اور کہتے ہمیں اللہ کافی ہے اب دیتا ہے ہمیں اللہ اپنے فضل سے اور اللہ کا رسول، ہمیں اللہ ہی کی طرف رغبت ہے (ف۱۳٦)

Kanzul Iman — English

The obligatory charity* is only for the destitute and the really needy, and those who collect it, and for those in whose hearts the love of Islam needs to be instilled**, and to free slaves, and to debtors, and in Allah's cause***, and to the traveller; this is decreed by Allah; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise. (* This applies only to Zakat. ** The new convert to Islam. *** To the fighter having no provisions for holy war.)

زکوٰة تو انہیں لوگوں کے لیے ہے (۱۳۷) محتاج اور نرے نادار اور جو اسے تحصیل کرکے لائیں اور جن کے دلوں کو اسلام سے الفت دی جائے اور گردنیں چھڑانے میں اور قرضداروں کو اور اللہ کی راہ میں اور مسافر کو، یہ ٹھہرایا ہوا ہے اللہ کا، اور اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے

Kanzul Iman — English

And among them (the hypocrites) are those who trouble* the Herald of the Hidden (the Prophet) and say, “He is only ears**”; say “He is a listener for your good, he believes in Allah and believes in what the Muslims say, and is a mercy for the Muslims among you”; and for those who trouble the Noble Messenger of Allah, is a painful punishment. (*To disrespect / trouble the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him – is blasphemy. **He believes whatever he is told.)

اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہیں کہ ان غیب کی خبریں دینے والے کو ستاتے ہیں (ف۱۳۸) اور کہتے ہیں وہ تو کان ہیں، تم فرماؤ تمہارے بھلے کے لیے کان ہیں اللہ پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور مسلمانوں کی بات پر یقین کرتے ہیں (ف۱۳۹) اور جو تم میں مسلمان ہیں ان کے واسطے رحمت ہیں، اور جو رسول اللہ کو ایذا دیتے ہیں ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

They swear by Allah in your presence in order to please you; whereas Allah – and His Noble Messenger – had more right that they should have pleased Him if they had faith.

تمہارے سامنے اللہ کی قسم کھاتے ہیں (ف۱٤۰) کہ تمہیں راضی کرلیں (ف۱٤۱) اور اللہ و رسول کا حق زائد تھا کہ اسے راضی کرتے اگر ایمان رکھتے تھے،

Do they not know that for one who opposes Allah and His Noble Messenger, is the fire of hell, to remain in it forever? This is the greatest humiliation.

کیا انہیں خبر نہیں کہ جو خلاف کرے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا تو اس کے لیے جہنم کی آگ ہے کہ ہمیشہ اس میں رہے گا، یہی بڑی رسوائی ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

The hypocrites fear for a chapter being revealed regarding them, which may disclose what is hidden in their hearts; say, “Keep mocking; Allah will certainly disclose what you fear.”

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

منافق ڈرتے ہیں کہ ان (ف۱٤۲) پر کوئی سورة ایسی اترے جو ان (ف۱٤۳) کے دلوں کی چھپی (ف۱٤٤) جتادے تم فرماؤ ہنسے جاؤ اللہ کو ضرور ظاہر کرنا ہے جس کا تمہیں ڈر ہے،

And if you ask them, they will say, “We were just having fun and pastime”; say, “What! You mock at Allah and His verses and His Noble Messenger?”

اور اے محبوب اگر تم ان سے پوچھو تو کہیں گے کہ ہم تو یونہی ہنسی کھیل میں تھے (ف۱٤۵) تم فرماؤ کیا اللہ اور اس کی آیتوں اور اس کے رسول سے ہنستے ہو،

Kanzul Iman — English

“Do not feign excuses, you have turned disbelievers after becoming Muslims”; if We forgive some of you*, We shall punish others because they were guilty. (* One who kept quiet and later repented.)

بہانے نہ بناؤ تم کافر ہوچکے مسلمان ہو کر (ف۱٤٦) اگر ہم تم میں سے کسی کو معاف کریں (ف۱٤۵) تو اوروں کو عذاب دیں گے اس لیے کہ وہ مجرم تھے (ف۱٤۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

The hypocrite men and women are all the same; enjoining wrong and forbidding right, and being tight-fisted*; they have forgotten Allah, so Allah has forsaken them; indeed the hypocrites – it is they who are really disobedient. (* Not spending in Allah's cause)

منافق مرد اور منافق عورتیں ایک تھیلی کے چٹے بٹے ہیں (ف۱٤۹) برائی کا حکم دیں (ف۱۵۰) اور بھلائی سے منع کریں (ف۱۵۱) اور اپنی مٹھی بند رکھیں (ف۱۵۲) وہ اللہ کو چھوڑ بیٹھے (ف۱۵۳) تو اللہ نے انہیں چھوڑ دیا (ف۱۵٤) بیشک منافق وہی پکے بےحکم ہیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers, the fire of hell in which they will remain forever; that is sufficient for them; and Allah’s curse is upon them; and for them is a never ending punishment.

اللہ نے منافق مردوں اور منافق عورتوں اور کافروں کو جہنم کی آگ کا وعدہ دیا ہے جس میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، وہ انہیں بس ہے اور اللہ کی ان پر لعنت ہے اور ان کے لیے قائم رہنے والا عذاب ہے

Kanzul Iman — English

Like those who were before you – they were mightier than you in strength, and had more wealth and children than you; so they spent their portion – you spent your portion just as those before you spent their portion and you fell into shame (sin) like they had fallen into shame; their deeds have been wasted in the world and in the Hereafter; it is they who are the losers.

جیسے وہ جو تم سے پہلے تھے تم سے زور میں بڑھ کر تھے اور ان کے مال اور اولاد سے زیادہ، تو وہ اپنا حصہ (ف۱۵۵) برت گئے تو تم نے اپنا حصہ برتا جیسے اگلے اپنا حصہ برت گئے اور تم بیہودگی میں پڑے جیسے وہ پڑے تھے (ف۱۵٦) ان کے عمل اکارت گئے دنیا اور آخرت میں اور وہی لوگ گھاٹے میں ہیں (ف۱۵۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

Did not the news of those before them reach them – the people of Nooh, and the A’ad, and the Thamud – the people of Ibrahim, the people of Madyan and the dwellings that were overturned? Their Noble Messengers had brought clear proofs to them; so it did not befit Allah’s Majesty to oppress them, but in fact they wronged themselves.

کیا انہیں (ف۱۵۸) اپنے سے اگلوں کی خبر نہ آئی (ف۱۵۹) نوح کی قوم (ف۱٦۰) اور عاد (ف۱٦۱) اور ثمود (ف۱٦۲) اور ابراہیم کی قوم (ف۱٦۳) اور مدین والے (ف۱٦٤) اور وہ بستیاں کہ الٹ دی گئیں (ف۱٦۵) ان کے رسول روشن دلیلیں ان کے پاس لائے تھے (ف۱٦٦) تو اللہ کی شان نہ تھی کہ ان پر ظلم کرتا (ف۱٦۷) بلکہ وہ خود ہی اپنی جانوں پر ظالم تھے (ف۱٦۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

And the Muslim men and Muslim women are the friends of one another; enjoining right and forbidding wrong, and keeping the prayer established and paying the obligatory charity, obeying Allah and His Noble Messenger; these are upon whom Allah will soon have mercy; indeed Allah is the Almighty, the Wise.

اور مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورتیں ایک دوسرے کے رفیق ہیں (ف۱٦۹) بھلائی کا حکم دیں (ف۱۷۰) اور برائی سے منع کریں اور نماز قائم رکھیں اور زکوٰة دیں اور اللہ و رسول کا حکم مانیں، یہ ہیں جن پر عنقریب اللہ رحم کرے گا، بیشک اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Allah has promised the Muslim men and Muslim women, Gardens beneath which rivers flow – they will abide in it forever – and pure dwellings in Gardens of everlasting stay; and the greatest (reward) is Allah’s pleasure; this is the supreme success.

اللہ نے مسلمان مردوں اور مسلمان عورتوں کو باغوں کا وعدہ دیا ہے جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور پاکیزہ مکانوں کا (ف۱۷۱) بسنے کے باغوں میں، اور اللہ کی رضا سب سے بڑی (ف۱۷۲) یہی ہے بڑی مراد پانی،

Kanzul Iman — English

O Herald of the Hidden! Fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them; and their destination hell; and what an evil place to return!

اے غیب کی خبریں دینے والے (نبی) جہاد فرماؤ کافروں اور منافقوں پر (ف۱۷۳) اور ان پر سختی کرو، اور ان کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور کیا ہی بری جگہ پلٹنے کی ،

Kanzul Iman — English

And they swear by Allah that they did not say it; whereas indeed they had certainly uttered the words of disbelief, and after having entered Islam turned disbelievers and had wished for what they did not get; and what annoyed them except that Allah, and His Noble Messenger, made them prosperous with His grace? So if they repent, it is better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful punishment – in this world and the Hereafter; and they will have neither a protector nor any supporter in the entire earth.

اللہ کی قسم کھاتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے نہ کہا (ف۱۷٤) اور بیشک ضرور انہوں نے کفر کی بات کہی اور اسلام میں آکر کافر ہوگئے اور وہ چاہا تھا جو انہیں نہ ملا (ف۱۷۵) اور انہیں کیا برا لگا یہی نہ کہ اللہ و رسول نے انہیں اپنے فضل سے غنی کردیا (ف۱۷٦) تو اگر وہ توبہ کریں تو ان کا بھلا ہے، اور اگر منہ پھیریں (ف۱۷۷) تو اللہ انہیں سخت عذاب کرے گا دنیا اور آخرت میں، اور زمین میں کوئی نہ ان کا حمایتی ہوگا اور نہ مددگار (ف۱۷۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah that, “If He gives us by His munificence, we will surely give charity and surely become righteous.”

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہیں جنہوں نے اللہ سے عہد کیا تھا کہ اگر ہمیں اپنے فضل سے دے تو ہم ضرور خیرات کریں گے اور ہم ضرور بھلے آدمی ہوجائیں گے (ف۱۷۹)

Kanzul Iman — English

Therefore when Allah gave them by His munificence, they hoarded it and turning their faces, went back.* (* Reneged on their promise).

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تو جب اللہ نے انہیں اپنے فضل سے دیا اس میں بخل کرنے لگے اور منہ پھیر کر پلٹ گئے،

Kanzul Iman — English

So following this, Allah put hypocrisy in their hearts until the day when they will meet Him – the result of their breaching the promise made to Allah, and because they lied.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

تو اس کے پیچھے اللہ نے ان کے دلوں میں نفاق رکھ دیا اس دن تک کہ اس سے ملیں گے بدلہ اس کا کہ انہوں نے اللہ سے وعدہ جھوٹا کیا اور بدلہ اس کا کہ جھوٹ بولتے تھے (ف۱۸۰)

Kanzul Iman — English

Do they not know that Allah knows their secrets and the schemes they whisper, and that Allah is the All Knowing of all the hidden?

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

کیا انہیں خبر نہیں کہ اللہ ان کے دل کی چھپی اور ان کی سرگوشی کو جانتا ہے اور یہ کہ اللہ سب غیبوں کا بہت جاننے والا ہے (ف۱۸۱)

Kanzul Iman — English

Those who find fault in the Muslims who give the charity wholeheartedly and in those who gain nothing except from their own toil – so they mock at them; Allah will punish them for their mocking; and for them is a painful punishment.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور جو عیب لگاتے ہیں ان مسلمانوں کو کہ دل سے خیرات کرتے ہیں (ف۱۸۲) اور ان کو جو نہیں پاتے مگر اپنی محنت سے (ف۱۸۳) تو ان سے ہنستے ہیں (ف۱۸٤) اللہ ان کی ہنسی کی سزا دے گا، اور ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Whether you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask forgiveness for them* or not ask forgiveness for them; even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them; that is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Noble Messenger, and Allah does not guide the sinful. (* for the hypocrites.)

تم ان کی معافی چاہو یا نہ چاہو، اگر تم ستر بار ان کی معافی چاہو گے تو اللہ ہرگز انھیں نہیں بخشے گا (ف۱۸۵) یہ اس لیے کہ وہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے منکر ہوئے، اور اللہ فاسقوں کو راہ نہیں دیتا (ف۱۸٦)

Kanzul Iman — English

Those who were left behind rejoiced that behind the Noble Messenger of Allah they had remained seated, and they were unwilling to fight in Allah's cause with their lives or their wealth, and said “Do not venture out in the heat”; say, “The fire of hell is the hottest”; if only they understood!

پیچھے رہ جانے والے اس پر خوش ہوئے کہ وہ رسول کے پیچھے بیٹھ رہے (ف۱۸۷) اور انہیں گوارا نہ ہوا کہ اپنے مال اور جان سے اللہ کی راہ میں لڑیں اور بولے اس گرمی میں نہ نکلو، تم فرماؤ جہنم کی آگ سب سے سخت گرم ہے، کسی طرح انہیں سمجھ ہوتی (ف۱۸۸)

Kanzul Iman — English

So they should laugh a little and weep much; the reward of what they used to earn.

تو انہیں چاہیے تھوڑا ہنسیں اور بہت روئیں (ف۱۸۹) بدلہ اس کا جو کماتے تھے (ف۱۹۰)

Kanzul Iman — English

Then if Allah takes you back to a group of them and they seek permission from you to go out to fight, say to them, “You shall never go out with me nor ever fight with me against any enemy; you were happy to remain seated for the first time, therefore remain seated with those who stay behind.”

پھر اے محبوب! (ف۱۹۱) اگر اللہ تمہیں ان (ف۱۹۲) میں سے کسی گروہ کی طرف واپس لے جائے اور وہ (ف۱۹۳) تم سے جہاد کو نکلنے کی اجازت مانگے تو تم فرمانا کہ تم کبھی میرے ساتھ نہ چلو اور ہرگز میرے ساتھ کسی دشمن سے نہ لڑو، تم نے پہلی دفعہ بیٹھ رہنا پسند کیا تو بیٹھ رہو پیچھے رہ جانے والوں کے ساتھ (ف۱۹٤)

Kanzul Iman — English

And never offer funeral prayers for any of them* who dies, nor stand by his grave**; indeed they disbelieved in Allah and His Noble Messenger, and they died as sinners. (* It is forbidden to offer funeral prayers for the hypocrites. ** To ask forgiveness for them).

اور ان میں سے کسی کی میت پر کبھی نماز نہ پڑھنا اور نہ اس کی قبر پر کھڑے ہونا، بیشک اللہ اور رسول سے منکر ہوئے اور فسق ہی میں مر گئے (ف۱۹۵)

Kanzul Iman — English

And do not be surprised at their wealth or their children; Allah only wills to torment them with it in this world, and that they pass away upon disbelief.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور ان کے مال یا اولاد پر تعجب نہ کرنا، اللہ یہی چاہتا ہے کہ اسے دنیا میں ان پر وبال کرے اور کفر ہی پر ان کا دم نکل جائے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And when a chapter is sent down that “Accept faith in Allah and fight along with His Noble Messenger”, the men of means among them seek exemption from you and say, “Leave us, for us to be with those who sit.”

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اور جب کوئی سورت اترے کہ اللہ پر ایمان لاؤ اور اس کے رسول کے ہمراہ جہاد کرو تو ان کے مقدور والے تم سے رخصت مانگتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں ہمیں چھوڑ دیجیے کہ بیٹھ رہنے والوں کے ساتھ ہولیں،

Kanzul Iman — English

They preferred to be with the women who stay behind, and their hearts have been sealed, so they do not understand.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

انہیں پسند آیا کہ پیچھے رہنے والی عورتوں کے ساتھ ہوجائیں اور ان کے دلوں پر مہُر کردی گئیں (ف۱۹٦) تو وہ کچھ نہیں سمجھتے (ف۱۹۷)

Kanzul Iman — English

But the Noble Messenger and those who accepted faith with him, fought with their wealth and lives; and for them only are the virtues (rewards); and it is they who have achieved the goal.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

لیکن رسول اور جو ان کے ساتھ ایمان لائے انہوں نے اپنے مالوں جانوں سے جہاد کیا، اور انہیں کے لیے بھلائیاں ہیں (ف۱۹۸) اور یہی مراد کو پہنچے،

Allah has kept ready for them Gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding in it forever; this is the greatest success.

Kanzul Iman — Urdu

اللہ نے ان کے لیے تیار کر رکھی ہیں بہشتیں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں گے، یہی بڑی مراد ملنی ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

And came the ignorant* who make excuses seeking exemption, and those who lied to Allah and His Noble Messenger remained seated; a painful punishment will soon reach the disbelievers among them. (* of faith)

اور بہانے بنانے والے گنوار آئے (ف۱۹۹) کہ انہیں رخصت دی جائے اور بیٹھ رہے وہ جنہوں نے اللہ و رسول سے جھوٹ بولا تھا (ف۲۰۰) جلد ان میں کے کافروں کو دردناک عذاب پہنچے گا (ف۲۰۱)

Kanzul Iman — English

There is no reproach upon the old nor upon the sick nor upon those who do not have the means to spend, provided they remain faithful to Allah and His Noble Messenger; and there is no way of reproach against the virtuous; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

ضعیفوں پر کچھ حرج نہیں (ف۲۰۲) اور نہ بیماروں پر (ف۲۰۳) اور نہ ان پر جنہیں خرچ کا مقدور نہ ہو (ف۲۰٤) جب کہ اللہ اور رسول کے خیر خواہ رہیں (ف۲۰۵) نیکی والوں پر کوئی راہ نہیں (ف۲۰٦) اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

Kanzul Iman — English

Nor against those who humbly present themselves before you in order that you provide them a mount, and receive an answer from you that “I do not have any beast to carry you” – and so they turn back with eyes overflowing with tears, due to the sorrow that they could not find the means to spend.

اور نہ ان پر جو تمہارے حضور حاضر ہوں کہ تم انہیں سواری عطا فرماؤ (ف۲۰۷) تم سے یہ جواب پائیں کہ میرے پاس کوئی چیز نہیں جس پر تمہیں سوار کروں اس پر یوں واپس جائیں کہ ان کی آنکھوں سے آنسو ابلتے ہوں اس غم سے کہ خرچ کا مقدور نہ پایا،
